Police 'reviewing footage' of Britain First video at Belfast hotel

Police have said they are reviewing footage online of Britain First members confronting alleged migrants at a Belfast hotel.

The far-right organisation claims that it "exposed" a Belfast hotel that was housing "illegal migrants" who were "waiting for housing", after its activists attended it on Tuesday.

In the video they can be seen speaking to people inside the hotel as they are lining up to get food from the restaurant.

The Britain First "activists" approached a number of people who were at the hotel and asked them where they were from, while also claiming that every room of it was being "funded by the British taxpayer".

Police have said that they are aware of the video online and will be reviewing it to see if an offence has been committed.

Superintendent Gerard Pollock said: "We are aware of online footage, and attended the incident at the time. We are now reviewing the footage, along with other evidence available to police to establish if any offences have been committed.

"We will continue to closely monitor the situation."
