Police have renewed an appeal for public assistance as they continue investigating a suspicious house fire in Richardson believed to be "deliberately lit".
ACT Policing said about 3am on Sunday, May 31, 2026, ACT Fire & Rescue and police were called to a house fire on Clift Crescent, Richardson. The fire was deemed suspicious.
After inquiries, police believe at least one person attended the property shortly before the incident and there may have been three people inside the residence when it was set alight.
ACT Policing said it was also aware members of the public have been entering the fire-damaged property and reminded the community of the significant risks associated with accessing damaged buildings.
Fire-damaged structures can be highly unstable and may contain hazardous materials, including asbestos and other debris. Risks include collapsing ceilings, falling building materials, weakened floors and exposure to harmful substances, police said.
