POLICE Scotland has released a further tranche of CCTV images of individuals it hopes to speak to as investigations into violent disorder that broke out during Celtic's title celebration in Glasgow continue.
A total of 56 individuals have now been identified, with the force asking for anyone pictured or anyone who recognises them to contact the police.
28 pictures were initially released on Monday, with Police Scotland releasing a further 28 on Tuesday morning.
Chief Superintendent Emma Croft, divisional commander for Greater Glasgow, said: "Significant enquiries remain ongoing into this disorder which impacted communities, businesses, police officers and supporters.
"I would urge the people in these images, or anyone who believes they may recognise them, to contact us."
A police statement added that anyone with information can call Police Scotland on 101, quoting Operation Gristaline, or can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
During the violence, which saw large crowds clash with police in the Trongate and Merchant City, two officers were seriously injured and three members of the public were hospitalised.
Some 3000 supporters congregated to celebrate their team’s victory over Hearts, with fans seen climbing lampposts and other street objects.
Officers had “missiles, including glass bottles” thrown at them while assisting with a medical emergency, police said.
Speaking on the day, Assistant Chief Constable Mark Sutherland said: “Urgent discussions with Celtic, wider Scottish football authorities and other stakeholders, including Glasgow City Council, is required to achieve a solution that improves public safety, reduces disruption and prevents this from happening again.”
He added: “Once again, we have seen unacceptable levels of violence and anti-social behaviour and Police Scotland’s officers have been left to deal with the consequences. Being assaulted is not part of the job and regrettably a number of them were injured.
“The levels of criminal behaviour witnessed, in particular the hostility directed towards our officers, is simply unacceptable and cannot be tolerated. Those involved should be in no doubt that they will be identified and arrested.”
The streets were cleared over a number of hours in the afternoon with videos showing fans clashing with police wearing riot gear.
Several roads were closed as police vehicles descended on the area, with most reopening by around 8pm on the same day
It came after Celtic's 3-1 victory over Edinburgh-based Hearts, which secured the league trophy for the East End club. At the end of the match hundreds of fans invaded the pitch in the final moments, with reports of abuse and violence towards Hearts players and staff prompting a scathing statement from the club.
