Police have ramped up their powers in an area of Oldham after groups were reportedly seen 'fighting in the street' and 'causing damage to vehicles' on Sunday (June 4).
A number of streets in the Derker area have now fallen under new stop and search powers following the groups of males causing a disturbance.
Greater Manchester Police have introduced the section 60 powers that allow officers to stop and search individuals within the area as part of their enquiries into the violent brawl.

Two people have since been arrested on suspicion of possessing offensive weapons, with increased 'highly visible' patrols to continue into the early hours of Tuesday (June 6).
The section 60 powers will run for 9 hours and 30 minutes, having begun at 4.30pm on Monday, with the authorisation ending at 2am on Tuesday.
Inspector Anthony Allt, from GMP’s Oldham Division, said: “We believe that this section 60 order is appropriate and necessary to reassure those in the Derker community and to keep people safe.
“Officers will be out tonight and in the coming days to ensure that there is a highly visible police presence and to deter any criminality from the streets.”
The areas included in the s60 boundaries are the A672 at Derker Street to Clyde Street, Clyde Street into Whetstone Hill Road and to Vulcan Street and Vulcan Street to Buxton Road. The area also covers Buxton Road to Stoneleigh Street and Stoneleigh Street to Derker Street.
