Police race to scene of 'incident' at Scots high rise flats with man seriously injured

Emergency services raced to an "ongoing incident" at a set of Scots high rise flats.

Police scrambled to the scene on Broomhead Drive in Dunfermline, Fife, after the alarm was raised on Tuesday night.

Pictures posted on social media showed at least half a dozen police vehicles in attendance.

Uniformed officers could be seen carrying out enquiries while worried residents watched on.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed they were called to reports of a serious assault at around 8.20pm with one man taken to hospital.

A force spokesperson said : “Officers were called to reports of a disturbance at Broomhead Drive in Dunfermline at around 8.20pm on Tuesday, 24 May, 2022.

“A 41-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the serious assault of a man. The man was taken to hospital for treatment.

“He is expected to appear at Dunfermilne Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 25 May, 2022”
