Police probe faeces smeared over lift and doors at Scots high rise flats

Police have launched a probe into a string of incidents involving faeces being smeared over lifts and doors at a block of Scots high rise flats.

Horrified residents have reported seeing the waste being spread across multiple floors at Hutcheon Court in Aberdeen this month.

Council bosses are currently investigating the incidents in a bid to identify the person responsible, reports Aberdeen Live.

Aberdeen City Council staff have previously cleared the waste, only for the vandalism to emerge again.

Grim images shared on social media showed faeces spread across the inside of a lift. Door handles and other floors have also been targeted over several days.

Cops confirmed they are looking into the situation at the block following reports of an incident on Monday, June 27.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to reports of vandalism at Hutcheon Court, Catherine Street, Aberdeen at around 4.50pm on Monday, June 27.

"Officers are aware of similar incidents in the area and are working to resolve the issue.

“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting incident number 2322 of June 27."

A spokesperson for Aberdeen City Council said: "We are aware of this incident and are currently investigating."
