A police force has been mocked for posting an online appeal with a CCTV image people said was so blurry that it "looks like a Google Street View face".
Northamptonshire Police posted the appeal in a bid to identify a man they wanted to speak with following an assault. However, the image - which was posted on Facebook and Twitter - was mocked by users who said the force had "more chance of finding Lord Lucan" due to the fact the image was completely blurred.

One Facebook user, Graham Adams, said: “A Google Street View face is less blurred than that! CCTV lens needs a bit of spit and polish!” Another social media user, Paul Stead, added: “Has that CCTV had one too many? A kid with a crayon could make a more convincing picture of a man!”
Another commented: "Northants Police have got more chance of finding Lord Lucan... The picture looks like it was taken from a speeding car!"
The appeal was launched by the police after a man was racially assaulted in Knoc Road in Wellinborough, Northants, at around 9.30am on Monday, October 17.
Police said the man in the image could assist police with their enquiries and he, or anyone who recognises him, should call Northamptonshire Police on 101.
