Police officers deny sexually assaulting woman at London's Hippodrome

Two Metropolitan Police PCs are accused of sexually assaulting a woman during a visit to Hippodrome Casino in London’s West End.

Jerome Beasley, 42, and Luke Robinson, 39, both face four counts of sexual assault over alleged groping of the woman at the popular venue.

They appeared in the dock together at Westminster magistrates court on Wednesday to enter not guilty pleas and ask for a Crown Court jury trial.

“The defendants are serving police officers”, said prosecutor Rhianne Neil.

“It all relates to the same female.”

The PCs are accused of “grabbing and squeezing” the alleged victim’s breasts and bottom, the court heard.

Beasley, who lives in North Harrow, pleaded not guilty to three counts of sexual assault on April 22 this year and a fourth allegation dated on January 1, 2020.

Robinson, from Northampton, denied four counts of sexual assault all dated April 22 this year.

Both officers, who are attached to the Central West Command Unit which covers Hammersmith and Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster, were off-duty at the time of the incident, Scotland Yard said on Monday.

The officers are now suspended from duty.

They were set free on bail until a hearing at Southwark crown court on December 18.

The officers are banned from contacting each other except through solicitors, they must not attend two named police stations, or contact the alleged victim or officers involved in the investigation.
