A serving police officer who was stopped by a supermarket worker with a full trolley had no intention of paying, a misconduct hearing has found.
The fact former Merseyside PC Gemma Smith, now 38, was in partial uniform during the incident despite having the day off work was found to be "an abuse of power and authority."
Her actions were said to amount to 'gross misconduct' at the conclusion of a three-day hearing at Merseyside Police HQ, Grosvenor Street today (March 17).
