A police officer has been rushed to hospital after their marked vehicle crashed into another motor of the busy M8 in Glasgow.
A picture from the scene shows the front end of the officer's car smashed up against a wall following the collision on the eastbound carriageway near junction 19, Glasgow Live reports.
Recovery of the vehicles involved remains ongoing after emergency services were called to assist at around 7.50am on Friday.
Police Scotland have confirmed that a cop has been taken by ambulance to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment for minor injuries
Traffic Scotland tweeted: “M8 Kingston Bridge. The eastbound junction 9 on ramp is closed. The eastbound carriageway remains restricted due to a collison. Police and TRISS are in attendance. Take care on approach.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said : “Around 7.50am on Friday, 30 December, 2022 a police vehicle was travelling to an emergency call when it was involved in a crash with another vehicle on the M8 at junction 19. Recovery of both vehicles is under way.
“The driver of the police vehicle has been taken by ambulance to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment for minor injuries.”
