Police have named a father-of-three who died after a motorcycle crash which closed a major road in Nottingham for more than 12 hours. The collision took place on the A453 Remembrance Way, in Ratcliffe-on-Soar, near to the West Leake junction at around 4.48am on Wednesday, May 4.
The rider, 62-year old Kevin Creighton, of Clifton, died at the scene, who leaves behind his wife, two sons and a daughter. Two vehicles were involved in the crash, with the road reopening just before 7pm on May 4.
Detective Constable Emma Temple, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Our thoughts and sympathies remain with Mr Creighton’s family at this difficult time who are being supported by specialist officers. We're working hard to establish the full circumstances of this tragic incident and I'm appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or who has any dash-cam footage that may be helpful to our ongoing investigation to please get in touch as soon as possible.
"Anyone with information is urged to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 52 of 4 May 2022.” Neighbours in Clifton reacted with shock and sadness earlier this month when police confirmed a man had died in the collision, which had brought traffic to a standstill.
