Police name 21-year-old woman killed in horror crash that closed Scots road

Police have named the 21-year-old woman who died in a horror crash that closed the A9.

Samantha Davies was driving her grey Nissan Micra along the road near Artafallie on the Black Isle at the time of the collision at around 10am on Sunday, February 6.

Mercy crews rushed to the scene, a few miles north-west of Inverness, but Samantha tragically could not be saved.

There were no other occupants in the car.

Officers closed the road in both directions following the smash and it re-opened five hours later at 3pm after police concluded their enquiries on site.

Cops are now appealing for information.

Sergeant David Miller, from Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with the friends and family of Samantha at this difficult time.

“Our investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this incident and we are appealing to anyone who may have seen the collision and has not already spoken to us or anyone who might have dash-cam footage to contact us.

“We are grateful to everyone who has assisted our enquiries so far.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 1250 of February 6, 2022.
