Police lock down Scots hospital after ‘man falls from building window’

Police have locked down a large section of New Stobhill Hospital in Glasgow after a man reportedly ‘fell from the building’.

Emergency services remain in attendance at the medical hub on Balornock Road after being called to concern for a person call at around 12.55pm on Tuesday October 25.

Eyewitnesses report seeing a man lying badly injured on the ground after the tragic incident - with medics racing to help him.

Police Scotland have since confirmed a 44-year-old man has been taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary in a 'critical condition'.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.55pm on Tuesday, 25 October, we received a report of a concern for person in the Balornock Road area of Glasgow.

“A man 44-year-old has been taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where his condition is described as critical.”

A statement from NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde said: “We are working with Police Scotland to investigate the circumstances surrounding an incident at Stobhill Hospital.

“While our principal concern is for the person involved in the incident, we have put in place appropriate support for others who may have been affected, including our staff.”
