Police were alerted to a man carrying a bladed item on a busy street in Edinburgh on Friday morning.
The incident happened at around 8.40am in the Bonnington Street area of Leith near Parkside Primary School.
A 38-year-old man was arrested by police shortly after they were alerted to the danger.
Police have confirmed that no one was injured during the incident and an investigation into what happened is currently taking place.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a man in possession of a bladed item in the Bonnington Street area of Leith in Edinburgh around 8.40am on Friday, 4 March.
“Officers attended and a 39-year-old man was arrested a short time later in connection with the incident.
“Nobody was injured and enquiries are ongoing.”
