Police lock down busy Glasgow road after rammy breaks out between 'football fans'

A rammy has broken out in Glasgow this afternoon after 'football fans' reportedly clashed on a busy road. The incident is believed to have taken place shortly before 2pm when a brawl allegedly erupted on Paisley Road West.

Footage taken at the scene, which was shared on social media, shows police vehicles race to where the stramash appears to erupt. Jeers and shouts can be heard as a large group seem to clash.

The incident took place just two miles from Ibrox stadium, where Rangers are playing Tottenham Hotspur this afternoon.

One individual can be seen grabbing an object from the ground and launching it in the direction of the crowd. People also appear to be pushing and shoving each other in the centre of the chaos.

Passers-by appear hesitant to continue their journey up the road while cars sitting in traffic close to the commotion take a U-turn in a bid to flee the madness.

Moments later, sirens can be heard screeching in the background and multiple police vans race to the scene, with several officers then piling out the vehicle before the video ends.

The video was filmed by a passenger who was queuing on the road located near Ibrox Stadium.

It is unclear whether anyone has been injured as a result of the rammy.

Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
