Police lay murder, burglary charges over man's death

A man has been charged with murder and burglary after he was arrested at a home where another man died.

The 52-year-old will face court on Monday charged with murder, breach of intervention order and aggravated burglary.

Police found an injured 84-year-old man after they were called to Foote Street at Brighton, in Melbourne's southeast, about 8.30pm on Friday.

Emergency services performed CPR before the man died at the scene.

The 52-year-old due to face Melbourne Magistrates Court was arrested at the scene, before being charged by homicide detectives on Sunday.
