Police launch urgent search for Scots man missing for almost a week

Police have launched an urgent search for a Scots man who has been missing for almost a week.

Edward Findlay, 47, was last seen in the Kirkintilloch /Lennoxtown area in East Dunbartonshire in the early hours of Sunday, May 29.

He has been described as 6ft 2ins, of a proportionate build with close cropped, grey hair. He has tattoos on both of his arms.

It is not known what Edward was wearing at the time of his disappearance.

The 47-year-old may have returned to Moray but the public is urged not to approach him and report any sightings to the police.

His daughter, Danielle Findlay said: "His phone is off and when he left, he took a photo of me and my sister off the wall.

"I am very worried about his welfare as he wasn't in a good way before he left. Please help me find my dad."

Detective Inspector Barry Stewart said: “We want to trace Edward Findlay as quickly as possible and I’d be interested to hear from anyone who has information.

"I would like to reassure people that considerable and extensive efforts are being put into locating him."

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland by calling 101 and quoting reference PS-20220530-2636.
