Police have launched an urgent manhunt after a 71-year-old woman died from “significant injuries” in London.

Officers were called shortly after 10am on 1 March to reports of a woman seriously injured at a residential address on Bath Road, Hounslow.

The woman was found inside the property with significant injuries. Despite the efforts of emergency services, she was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

A cordon remains in place, and detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command have begun an investigation. No arrests have been made.

Detective Chief Inspector Matthew Denby, who is leading the investigation, said: “This is a tragic incident in which a woman has lost her life. We are working to establish the full circumstances of what happened, and we are keeping an open mind to pursue all lines of inquiry.

“We urge anyone who was in the area of Bath Road, who may have seen or heard anything unusual, to come forward. Even small pieces of information can prove vital.”

Extra patrols will be carried out in the local area to provide reassurance to residents, he said.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting reference CAD2395/01Mar, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
