Police launch urgent appeal to trace man who vanished 36 hours ago

Police have launched an urgent appeal to trace a missing Ayrshire man who vanished 36 hours ago.

Stewart Mitchell has been reported missing from the Girvan area and officers are desperately trying to find him.

Stewart, 40, was last seen in the Rowan Road area on Friday at around 6pm with cops being lead to believe he may have traveled to the Chapelhall area of Lanarkshire.

He is described as being 6ft and slim build, with short brown hair and blue/green eyes.

Inspector Paul Richmond, from Kilmarnock Police Station, said: “As time passes since Stewart was reported missing, our concerns for his welfare continue to grow.

"We’re appealing for anyone with any information on his whereabouts to come forward as soon as possible.

“If you believe you can assist out efforts, please call police on 101, quoting incident 0073 of 26 June.”
