Police launch probe after two-year-old hospitalised following Dumbarton hit and run

Police are appealing for information after a two-year-old girl was knocked down by a car in Brucehill.

The incident happened on Napier Crescent, Dumbarton at around 8.30pm on Sunday April 9, when the child was struck by a car, which failed to stop.

She was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow and later released.

The car is believed to be a silver or light coloured, small hatchback.

Extensive enquiries have been carried out and we are now appealing to the public to help identify the driver and vehicle involved.

Sergeant Archie McGuire of the Argyll & West Dunbartonshire Road Policing Unit said: “I would urge anyone who may have information to come forward.

“In addition, if you have dash-cam that could help with our crash investigation then please contact us.”

Anyone who can assist is asked to call 101, quoting 3477 of 9 April, 2023. Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
