Police are hunting a man after a car was driven at speed in the direction of two cops in Leeds city centre.
According to West Yorkshire Police, the car mounted the pavement in Lower Briggate and was driven towards two approaching police officers. The force says it narrowly missed the officers and other pedestrians walking along the street at the time.
The car involved, a white Volkswagen Golf, registration LS21 TVG, was involved in a crash on Lower Briggate in the city centre and failed to stop at the scene at 4.44am on Sunday, December 11.
A spokesperson for the force said: "Police officers on foot approached the vehicle, but it was driven towards them at speed along a footpath, narrowly missing both officers as well as other pedestrians nearby."
West Yorkshire Police have now released CCTV images of a man they want to identify over a dangerous driving offence. Anyone with any information should call police on 101, quoting reference 13220679424. Information can be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
