Police are appealing for information to help track down an elderly man from Wigan who has been missing since early this morning.
George Newton, 77, was last seen in Burnvale, in the Winstanley area, at around 5.15am today (January 14).
He is described as being a white male and has grey hair with black flecks. He was wearing glasses, a blue coat, a black woolly hat and black trousers at the time of his disappearance.

Officers said he has no tattoos but has a scab on the back of his left hand, which might be distinctive.
Anyone with information on George’s whereabouts is being asked to contact Greater Manchester Police.
In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: “Police are concerned for the whereabouts of 77 year old George Newton. Last seen on Burnvale, Winstanley at 05:15 on Saturday 14th January 2023.
“He is described as a white male, grey hair with black flecks, glasses, blue coat, black woolly hat, black trousers, no tattoos but does have a scab on the back of his left hand.
“Any sightings please contact police on 999 quoting log 1067-14012023.”
