A man has been arrested following a dramatic standoff between police and a wanted man on the roof of a Leeds house yesterday, May 1.
Officers from West Yorkshire Police were called to Woodsley Road in Hyde Park yesterday morning at around 8am, to arrest a wanted man. Upon police arrival the man went onto the roof of the property where he remained for a number of hours.
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and Yorkshire Ambulance Service also attended.

Woodsley Road was closed in both directions for most of the day, with a number of cordons in place blocking all access to the street.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "Police attended at an address on Woodsley Road, Leeds, on Sunday morning to conduct arrest enquiries for a man wanted on recall to prison.
"On officers arrival a man present went onto the roof of the property.
"Officers negotiated with the man who came down later in the day and was arrested without further incident."
A LeedsLive reporter who was at the scene said she heard the man making "violent threats" to bystanders, who have come out of their homes to see what is going on.
