A motorbike driver was airlifted to hospital after a crash in Southport.
Police confirmed a man in his 50s was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a crash at around 1.30pm on Monday, May 9. The crash involving a blue Honda motorbike and a grey and white Toyota SUV, happened on Coastal Road, in Southport.
Officers have revealed that the driver of the motorbike remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition. The North West Ambulance Service was called to the crash and an air ambulance was also requested.

A spokesperson from the North West Ambulance Service said: "A man in his 50s was airlifted to hospital following an RTC involving a motorcyclist. We received a 999 call at 1.29pm."
A spokesperson from the North West Air Ambulance Charity said: “We can confirm that the North West Air Ambulance Charity was called to a road traffic collision (RTC) in Ainsdale, at approximately 1.50pm on Monday, May 9.”
Merseyside Police closed the Coastal Road in both directions while dealing with the incident, causing delays in the wider area. Cars began queueing on Pinfold Lane as they tried to get onto Liverpool Road to avoid the crash.
A spokesperson from Merseyside Police said: "At around 1.30pm officers were called to a report of a collision involving a grey and white Toyota and a blue Honda motorbike. The man who was riding the motorbike was taken to hospital via helicopter with serious injuries.
"The driver of the Toyota remained at the scene and is assisting police with enquiries."
