A major police investigation has been launched after a suspected shooting in Stockport.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed officers were called to reports gunshots were fired on Wilmslow Road in the Heald Green area at around 4pm on Friday. The Manchester Evening News understands a house was shot at.
Police have confirmed there were no reports of any injuries.

Witnesses told how police and armed officers swarmed an area of the busy road between Greenway Road and Outwood Road, with forensic investigators also pictures at the scene.
One witness said: "The police helicopter was out between 4pm and 4.30pm, circling around for at least 10 minutes.
"Police taped off the entire area and armed police were also there."
Images from the scene showed police vehicles outside a property on the road. GMP confirmed no arrests have been made as yet and described the shooting as a 'targeted incident'.
In a statement, Greater Manchester Police said: "Greater Manchester Police can confirm an investigation is underway into a suspected firearms discharge on Wilmslow Road, Stockport at around 4pm on Friday 21 April 2023.
"Fortunately, no injuries have been sustained. No arrests have been made at this time either.
"Officers believe this is a targeted incident with no wider risk to the public. Any information that may help with enquiries, which are ongoing, are asked to call 101 quoting log 2196 of 21/04/2023."
No further details have been revealed.
