Police are investigating a the robbery of a teenager whose phone and purse were allegedly stolen.
A 18-year-old woman was approached by a man and another woman while she was walking on Crowtree Road in Sunderland city centre at around 3.35am on Sunday, January 15.
Officers said the woman assaulted the victim and grabbed her bag, before taking a phone and purse from it.

A member of the public has then tried to intervene – however, the man and woman were able to flee the scene on foot with the bag, phone and purse. The victim was not physically injured but left shaken.
Northumbria Police launched an investigation after the robbery was reported to them. The force has released images of a man and woman they wanted to speak to. The force have now confirmed that they have been identified.
