Police investigating sexual assault allegation at National Eisteddfod in Tregaron

Heddlu Dyfed-Powys Police has confirmed that they are investigating into an allegation of sexual assault at the National Eisteddfod of Wales in Tregaron last week. The police force said that the alleged attack took place at an event in the cultural festival at around 20:50 BST on Wednesday, August 3.

An 18-year-old male was arrested and later released under investigation pending further police enquiries. Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed that there were no reports of spiking being involved.

In a statement released on Wednesday, August 10, a spokesperson for the police force said: "Police are investigating an allegation of sexual assault at an event in the Eisteddfod on Wednesday, 3rd August 2022.

"An 18-year-old male was arrested and later released under investigation pending further police enquiries."
