Police are investigating after a man launched into a vile anti-Semitic rant on the Jubilee Line.

Shocking footage appears to show a man holding a bottle of beer turning on passengers on Tuesday night.

Women sitting near him cover their faces and run to the other side of the carriage to escape.

It is unclear who he was shouting at in the video.

A British Transport Police spokesperson replied to the footage circulating on Twitter saying the force would investigate.

American based group Stop Antisemitism posted the footage on Twitter, adding: “Horrifying antisemitism on a London train earlier today.”

Just under two-thirds of British Jews live in Greater London.

According to the Metropolitan Police, there were 575 antisemitic hate crimes committed in 2022 centred around the boroughs of Barnet and Hackney.

This is down 32 per cent from the year before.

A BTP Spokeswoman told The Standard: “We are aware of a video circulating of a man displaying anti-Semitic behaviour on a London Underground train.

“We take such incidents extremely seriously, and are carrying out enquiries into this.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 44 of 11/01/23.”
