Police investigate attempted arson attack at London synagogue

  • An attempted arson attack took place at Finchley Reform Synagogue in north London shortly after midnight on Wednesday.
  • Two suspects, wearing dark clothing and balaclavas, threw two bottles believed to contain petrol and a brick at the building.
  • Neither bottle ignited, and no damage or injuries were reported from the incident.
  • The Metropolitan Police are treating the incident as an attempted hate crime and are investigating with support from Counter Terrorism Policing London.
  • No arrests have been made, and police are appealing for witnesses while increasing their presence in the area, with local MP Sarah Sackman condemning the attack.
