A man has been left with injuries after a vehicle theft in Wallsend on Sunday.
At around 1.30pm on Sunday, officers received reports that a vehicle was stolen from Belford Close, Battle Hill, before a man was assaulted.
Officers attended and found the vehicle to be abandoned nearby a short while later. And while the man’s injuries are not thought to be life-threatening, Northumbria Police say they are looking into what happened.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “At 1.30pm yesterday we received a report of a theft of a motor vehicle in Belford Close, Battle Hill, Wallsend.
“It was also reported that a male had been assaulted. He suffered injuries not believed to be life-threatening. Officers attended and the vehicle was found abandoned nearby a short time later.
Enquiries are ongoing.
