Police increasingly concerned for missing Helen, 62

A woman's disappearance from her Glasgow home is giving increasing cause for concern, police said yesterday (Thursday, April 21).

Helen Simmons, 62, was last seen at about 4.30pm on Wednesday at her home on Machrie Road, Castlemilk.

Police, who say that going missing is out of character for Helen, yesterday appealed to the public to help trace her.

She is described as a white woman, around 5ft 3in tall, of a medium build with short blonde hair and brown eyes. She normally wears dark coloured jogging bottoms, a fleece, Ugg or Chelsea boots and sunglasses.

Inspector Mhairi Crawford of Greater Glasgow Response Policing Unit, said: “We are becoming increasingly concerned for Helen’s welfare and are asking members of the public for their assistance to help trace her safe and well.

“It is completely out of character for Helen to go missing and were are appealing to anyone who has any information surrounding her whereabouts to get in touch with police.

“If you have noticed someone matching this description please come forward and speak to officers.”

Police can be contacted on 101 quoiting incident number 0435 of Thursday, 21 April, 2022.

UPDATE: Helen Simmons has been traced safe and well.
