Police are appealing for information after a serious sexual assault in Withington in the early hours of today. A woman has reported being attacked by a man at around 3am in the Cotton Lane area of Withington.
A second witness later reported a man performing a sexual act on himself in nearby Egerton Road about 20 minutes later. Police believe the two incidents could be linked.
The victim of the attack described the suspect as a white man, between 5ft 10in and 6ft, with shaggy brown hair and wearing a red T-shirt. Chief Inspector Tony Norman, of GMP's City of Manchester South division, said: "We are investigating both incidents and keeping an open mind as to whether they are linked.
