Police hunt man after glassing attack at Bexley bar

Police have appealed for help in tracing a man they want to speak to following a serious assault at a bar in Bexley on Sunday.

A man smashed a glass into another man’s face at the Tanyard Bar and Kitchen in Bexley High Street shortly after midnight on Sunday, February 1 before leaving the scene.

The victim, who is in his 30s was taken to hospital after London Ambulance Service officers attended the scene, and has undergone reconstructive surgery.

Police want to speak to 29-year-old Swanley resident Billy Clarke in connection with the incident, and have released an image of him to the public.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Rodgers, who is leading the investigation, said: “This was a very serious assault, in which the victim suffered appalling injuries.

“We believe Billy Clarke may have information that could assist our investigation, and are appealing for anyone who knows of his whereabouts to come forward.”

Anyone with information is urged to call 101, quoting reference 61/01FEB.
