A teenager was hospitalised after a serious assault in broad daylight in Bathgate.
Officers now are appealing for information following the attack outside a store in Boghall.
The incident happened around 4.35pm on Wednesday, March 8 on Philip Avenue.
A 17-year-old man was in the Day Today Store when he was approached by a man who then followed him out onto the street and assaulted him. He was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.
The suspect is described as around 5ft 5ins, of slim build and aged his 20s. He was wearing a black puffer style jacket, black joggers and had a mask covering the bottom half of his face.
Detective Jennifer Rogers said: ”We are appealing for information and asking anyone who saw what happened or saw the man, before or after the incident, to get in touch.
