A man from Liverpool has been jailed after police pulled over a pink muscle car containing up to £500,000 worth of drugs.
Michael Smyth, 29, of Compton Road, Liverpool, was jailed for more than seven years after his DNA was found on packages of drugs worth up to £500,000 in a pink Ford Mustang being driven by his associates. Police had pulled over the car after spotting it driving erratically on the M6 last October by his associate, Emily Phillips.
Phillips was arrested and taken into police custody and the car was impounded, while passenger Robert Dalton was dropped off at Sandbach services. However Dalton was later arrested after officers searched the car and found thousands of ecstasy tablets with a value of up to £500,000 in a bag.

Michael Smyth's DNA was found on some of the packages of the class A drugs. Police then discovered a further quantity of the drugs along with other drug paraphernalia when they went to arrest Smyth at his Liverpool home in January.
At a hearing at Chester Crown Court in July, Smyth and Dalton both pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply class A drugs. Smyth was jailed for seven and a half years, Dalton was jailed for five years and 10 months.
Phillips, 33, from Kent pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and dangerous driving. She was jailed for 14 years and four months at Chester Crown Court on Thursday, December 22 2022.
Police Constable Mark Jones, of Cheshire Police, who oversaw the investigation said: "With the strength of the evidence we were able to gather against Emily Phillips, Michael Smyth and Robert Dalton, they had little choice other than to plead guilty to the class A drug dealing offences they were charged with.
"Their convictions and the significant custodial sentences they have been handed by Chester Crown Court are the results of great work by all the officers involved in the case, which shows the value of police stop checks. What started as a basic stop check resulted in the seizure of a substantial amount of class A drugs.
“On top of that, Phillips, Smyth and Dalton are all now behind bars facing the consequences of their actions. I hope that the sentences they have been handed act as a warning to others and sends out a clear message that if you come to Cheshire to commit crime, you will be caught and you will be brought to justice."
