Cops are hunting for two men who fled and abandoned a car after failing to stop during a police chase in Glasgow.
The vehicle was travelling on the M74 between junctions 8 and 10 near Lesmahagow at around 6.30pm last night when police instructed it to pull over.
The driver ignored the signals and carried on driving towards Glasgow before dumping the car on Millerston Road and heading towards The Forge Retail Park in the east end of the city.
Cops were then seen storming the nearby Tesco Extra in a bid to trace the suspects.
A video posted on social media showed officers drawing up at the retail park and yelling at shoppers to "move" as they entered the supermarket.
Several police vehicles converged on the shop with sirens blazing at around 7pm - and a police helicopter was also heard above the scene.
Officers failed to catch the suspects and a manhunt has now been launched.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.30pm on Thursday, 28 January, a vehicle failed to stop when signalled by officers on the M74 between junctions eight and 10 near Lesmahagow.
“The vehicle travelled towards Glasgow, continuing to fail to stop, and was subsequently abandoned on Millerston Road.
“The driver left the vehicle and made off in the direction of The Forge shopping centre. He has yet to be traced.
“Enquiries are ongoing to trace the two occupants of the vehicle.”
