An alleged police chase came to a sudden end outside a police station before officers smashed a window to remove the driver.
A 51-year-old man will face court for the first time on Tuesday, July 21, on a police pursuit charge after the incident unfolded on the Central Coast last week.
Police say they tried to stop a vehicle on Wallarah Road at Gorokan just after 3am on Thursday, July 16, but it allegedly failed to stop.
Police launched a pursuit, which allegedly continued to Gosford, where road spikes were successfully deployed.
The vehicle came to a stop a short time later directly outside Gosford Police Station on Mann Street.
The 51-year-old man allegedly behind the wheel then refused directions to exit the vehicle, according to police.
Officers used a police-issue baton to smash a window before removing the driver from the vehicle.
The man was taken inside Gosford Police Station, where he was charged with one count of police pursuit while driving dangerously.
He was released on strict conditional bail to face Gosford Local Court.
