A RAYMOND Terrace man has been charged with the alleged sexual touching of a teenage girl that police claim he knew.
The 36-year-old man was arrested after an extensive police investigation led officers to execute a search warrant at a Rosetta Way home, about 11am on Tuesday.
The alleged offender was taken to Raymond Terrace Police Station and charged with five offences including intentionally sexually touch child over 10 years; procure child for unlawful sexual activity and use carriage service to menace, harrass or offend.
He was refused bail at Newcastle Local Court on Wednesday, he will return to Raymond Terrace Local Court on Monday.
The investigation was launched by Port Stephens-Hunter Police District officers after reports a 15-year-old girl had allegedly been sexually touched by a man who was known to her.
The investigation is continuing, police have urged anyone who wishes to report a crime to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
