A Victorian man has been charged following a truck crash that engulfed six trucks in flames near Goulburn in June.
About 5am on Tuesday 30 June 2026, emergency services were called to Windmills Rest Area parking, northbound on the Hume Highway, Breadalbane, about 32km southwest of Goulburn, following reports of a multi-vehicle crash and fire.
Fire and Rescue NSW responded and extinguished the blaze, which involved six semi-trailers. All six trucks were destroyed.
NSW Ambulance responded and treated six male drivers for minor injuries.
Two drivers, aged 23 and 28, were taken to Goulburn Hospital for mandatory testing.
Police said initial investigations suggested two trucks collided and became alight, before the fire spread to four other trucks that were parked at the rest bay nearby.
The multi-truck crash sparked an extensive salvage operation and investigations by general duty and crash unit police.
Following inquiries, on Tuesday, July 14, a 28-year-old man, from Wollert, Victoria, was served a future court attendance notice, charged with negligent driving (no death or grievous bodily harm).
He is due to appear before Yass Local Court on Thursday, August 27.
