A police car responding to an emergency call crashed into a Polestar car.
Merseyside Police confirmed a police car responding to an emergency was involved in the crash in Birkenhead yesterday afternoon. The incident took place at the junction of Watson Street and Cleveland Street at around 4.30pm on Thursday, May 11.
A spokesperson for the police said: "The police car was responding to an emergency incident reported on Whetstone Lane when the collision occurred." An eyewitness said there was a significant emergency services response including "seven police cars, two paramedics and an ambulance".

The eyewitness said: "Someone crashed into a power car that went through a red light with its blues on." They added: "No one was seriously hurt. The brand new Polestar wasn't damaged [and] the police car needs a new door, maybe a wing."
Merseyside Police confirmed a police officer and the driver of the Polestar sustained slight injuries. Images taken at the scene showed police temporarily closed the road while clean up operations were carried out.
