Police are making inquiries after the "sudden death" of a woman in Swansea, officers have confirmed. The circumstances of the woman's death have not yet been shared publicly but it's understood that she was found in a property in the Townhill area of the city.
An initial statement from South Wales Police explained: "South Wales Police are in attendance in Elphin Crescent following a report of a sudden death of a woman. Enquiries are ongoing."
A later statement, issued on Wednesday, June 21 added: "South Wales Police was called yesterday morning, Tuesday June 20, just after 9.30am with a report of a sudden death of a woman in Elphin Crescent.
"Enquiries are ongoing to ascertain the full circumstances although at this stage there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances. HM Coroner has been informed."
Police officers and three police vehicles were seen on the street for several hours on Tuesday, June 20. The woman's next of kin have been informed of her death.
