The police were called after a dog got into a primary school playground and caused chaos.
As parents were dropping their children off at St Gregory's Catholic Primary School in Netherley this morning, the dog entered school property and began to run around the school grounds, causing some concern.
The dog, understood to be a husky breed, did not belong to a parent at the school. It actually belonged to a person living close to the school, which is based in Montreal Road. The owner was identified but unable to collect the animal from the school at the time.

Officers from Merseyside Police were called to the school and the dog was taken away, before later being returned to its owner, who was spoken to by officers.
Speaking on behalf of the school, a Liverpool City Council spokesperson said: "An incident took place this morning as parents were dropping their children off at school.
"A dog, which did not belong to one of the school's parents, entered school property and began running around the school grounds.
"Staff managed to catch the dog and remove it from the site and the animal was taken away by Merseyside Police.
"No children were harmed and we'd like to thank the police for their swift response and for supporting the children."
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: We were contacted at around 8.50am following reports that a dog had entered the grounds of St Gregory’s Primary School in Netherley.
"There were no reports injuries and the dog was returned to its owner who was spoken to by officers."
