Police have appealed for information following an incident where fireworks were set off outside the Hilton Hotel in the city centre.

Merseyside Police received reports of fireworks being set off outside the Hilton Hotel in Liverpool City Centre at around 1am on Sunday, May 1. Widely circulated footage on social media showed fireworks being set off directly outside the hotel near the Royal Albert Dock.

Another video on Twitter showed fireworks being pointed in the direction of the hotel while a third showed fireworks and smoke devices being thrown towards the hotel's front entrance. Door staff can be seen standing at the entrance of the hotel when the projectiles are thrown.
