A search is under way to find a newborn baby taken from a Queensland hospital and believed to be at significant risk.
The one-day-old baby girl was taken from Ipswich Hospital on Monday, Queensland Police said.
Two women were seen taking the baby and putting her into a white Suzuki Liana with registration 095HI8.
The car was last seen leaving Charlotte Street in Basin Pocket at 2.30pm on Tuesday.
On Tuesday night, the Queensland Police Service said it was still seeking urgent public assistance to locate the girl.
“The car she was believed to be travelling in has since been located,” the QPS said in a statement.
“Police would like to speak to 18-year-old Khloe Bornen, who is believed to be in the company of the baby, who is still missing.
“Khloe is Caucasian, about 165cm tall, with a proportionate build and brown hair.”
Investigators had earlier said they don’t believe the kidnap was random.
“It wasn’t just random strangers who walked into the hospital to take a baby,” a Queensland Police spokeswoman told AAP.
An amber alert has been issued.
Police said witnesses could call CrimeStoppers on 1800 333 000 or 131 564 to provide any information.
