Police have located a man from West Denton went missing from his home in the early hours of the morning and who had not been seen since.
John Atkinson, 42, was thought to have left his house in the West Denton area, at around 5am on Monday in a grey Vauxhall Vivaro van.
It has led officers from Northumbria Police to launch a search to locate missing John, and anyone with information is urged to get in touch.

Officers released a description of John in the hope that he could be located.
“John is believed to be wearing a grey Boss hoodie which has yellow on the hood, with cream/white shorts and tan work boots,” said a spokesman for the force.
“He also has a prominent tattoo on his neck saying ‘Jesus walks’ – as well as other tattoos on both arms, with one side being tribal and the other a portrait of his daughter.”
Thankfully, John has since been found safe and well.
