Police appeal for witnesses after man dies falling into marina on New Year's Eve

A man died after he fell from height at a marina on New Year's Eve and police are appealing for the public's help in understanding what happened.

The 56-year-old man, whose identity has not yet be released to the public, died after falling at around 10am at Brighton Marina in East Sussex.

Police are now appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have seen the man in the run up to the incident.

The man's next of kin have been informed of his death

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “Officers are appealing for witnesses and information after a man fell from height at Brighton Marina.

“Emergency services attended the incident which happened shortly after 10am on Saturday December 31.

“A 56-year-old man was tragically declared dead at the scene.

“His next of kin have been informed.

“Police are preparing a report for HM Coroner, and have appealed for witnesses or anyone with relevant CCTV or information to come forward.”
