Police appeal for information after woman dies in Perthshire car crash

A woman tragically died in a car crash near Errol last week.

Police confirmed over the weekend the woman who died in the incident involving a black Nissan Micra car on the A90 last Friday was a 32-year-old passenger named Rebecca Tasker.

It’s understood the crash occurred at around 11.05am and four other occupants of the vehicle - a 29-year-old man, a 20-year-old man, a 10-year-old boy and a seven-year-old girl - were taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment.

Police said the road was closed for over six hours so an investigation could be conducted to determine the cause of the crash.

Road Policing Sergeant William Strachan of the Road commented: “Our thoughts remain with the family of Rebecca at this very difficult time.

“We are conducting extensive enquiries into the circumstances of this incident and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

“I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have dash-cam footage to contact us as soon as possible.

“I would like to thank members of the public for their patience while we carried out our investigation into this serious collision.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has dash-cam footage is asked to call Police Scotland on 101 quoting 1349 of August 12, 2022.
