A TEENAGER has been raped in a park in Moray.
Forensic officers with Police Scotland carried out investigations at the scene in Coopers Park, Elgin, on Sunday.
The force said it received reports that a 17-year-old girl had been seriously sexually assaulted earlier that day between 2.30am and 3am.
Anyone who was in the park or who had spoken to a young woman in the area around that time has been asked to contact police on the non-emergency line – more information can be found HERE.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Officers from Police Scotland are investigating a serious sexual assault on a 17-year-old woman that occurred between 2.30am and 3am on Sunday, August 4 2024 within Coopers Park, Elgin.
"Anyone who was in the area or anyone who has spoken to a young woman in the area around this time is asked to contact police via 101 and quote incident number 0752 of August 4 2024."
