Police have renewed an appeal for help to find a man who went missing while detained under the Mental Health Act.
Andrew Richards went missing during an escorted visit to Bury with health workers last Wednesday (May 10), police said. The 54-year-old is now wanted by officers on suspicion of absconding from lawful custody.
Members of the public should not approach him if they see him, but should contact police. Officers said previously Andrew was last seen wearing a white shirt, blue jeans, black shoes and a formal, long black coat.

He was also carrying a dark rucksack. He is described as a white man of slim build and around 6ft tall.
Police issued a renewed appeal for help to find Andrew today (May 16). He was last seen in Bolton, officers said.
He has links to Bolton, Bury and the Maesteg area of South Wales. In a series of tweets, the force said: "#WANTED | Police are renewing the appeal for help to find a man who was last seen in #Bolton.
"Andrew Richards was reported missing by health care professionals during an escorted visit to #Bury Town Centre on Wednesday 10 May 2023. As Richards was detained under the Mental Health Act at the time and in response to ongoing assessments, he is also wanted on suspicion of absconding from lawful custody.
"Members of the public should not approach him. Richards is known to have links to Bolton and Bury as well as the Maesteg area of South #Wales.
