Police and fire crews descended on a south Manchester street after a fire involving a barbecue. People living close to the scene in Lloyd Street South, Fallowfield, reported hearing a 'huge bang' moments before emergency services arrived at about 6pm last night.

The blaze is believed to have involved a barbecue in the garden of a home. The flames then spread to a nearby shed.

Three homes suffered minor damage as a result of the blaze. Images showed several police vehicles and fire engines parked up on the street earlier this evening.
